Halifax NA337 was a Handley Page Halifax Mk VII, one of the last remaining aircraft of its kind. It served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II, primarily in a transport and supply role. On the night of April 23, 1945, NA337 was shot down over Norway while on a mission to drop supplies to Norwegian resistance fighters. The aircraft crashed into a lake, where it remained submerged for decades. In the 1990s, NA337 was recovered and meticulously restored by the Halifax Aircraft Association. Today, it is on display at the National Air Force Museum of Canada in Trenton, Ontario, serving as a tribute to the brave aircrews who flew these missions during the war.
